ODEO Investigation: Who is this guy Frank Maraesca and what does he have to do with Odeo?
A little birdy in NYC informed this blogger to Google Frank Maresca and quite a few things came up.
1. He has on his website that he works with Sivault? (Rick Arturo, Eric Russo/Rupert? and Dick Moore all come up as Silvault exec also- now Sonicmountain /Odeo execs?)
http://www.fundingpost.com/venturefund/venture-fund-profile.asp?fund=290
2. From the Odeo Wikipedia hyperlink he was the "Sole Director" of SonicMountain who kept this fact secret from the CEO, who he had removed without a vote of shareholders.
Rumour on the blogosphere is that the CEO wanted to stop a Pump And Dump scam!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odeo
So who is this guy and what is his agenda? (Guy from Wantaugh will know?)
Please send info back to blog in comment section

Odeo / SM announces (under the covers) a private beta launch of the Fireant site!
You heard it here first! What is this nonsense? A private beta? You Plump and Dumpers have been screaming Oh Fireant! (never paying the poor souls either!) Fireant will show every one! Well we are waiting! Looks like a Firesale of re-hashed code from myfireant! Too embarrassed to admit you just are underfunded (thanks to no pink sheet investment!)and way too late to the party!
Marco Rivera was dead on from TechCrunch:

Don’t hold your breath for anything exciting to come from the likes of kinberg at fireant. He flat out lied to me and my college friends who spent months working on a video channel for fireant, saying that a new version of the player was coming, that it would connect directly to portable devices and that our channel would be put into the fireant directory. All lies.
Don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner but I checked out kinberg’s personal blog and here’s a guy who doesn’t even bother to update his blog for months at a time and not a hint of video creation to be found. I wonder if ODEO did their homework before hiring this guy on!
I’m pretty sick and tired of these blabber-mouth, self flattering tech CEOs who think they know what film makers want, when they themselves don’t produce nada. Granted my friends and I are just starting out in film making and comedy TV, but at least we try to produce something every day.

Odeo Sonicmountain reportedly struggling without trademark!
Maybe why(other than financial reasons we hear)they cannot re-launch? 24 days late and counting!

Hey SonicMountain Odeo; you are about to make the same mistake twice! Apple has video?
From The Economist on Evan Williams:
His next idea, he now realises, was flawed by being obvious not in retrospect, but from the start—itself an important lesson. When podcasts emerged as the audio analogue of blogs, Mr Williams used his Google money to invest in a firm called Odeo that aimed to make listening to podcasts easier. Yet such a tool was so vital that Apple did the job with iTunes, its popular music-library software, thus eliminating the need for Odeo.

Breaking News: Odeo / Sonicmountain "stiffs" another company!
A little birdie from the Big Apple, told CSNY that yet once again the new Odeo/ SonicMountain have not paid another company for services they contracted (reported over $100,000). The contracted agreement was for Meta Search Technology, from WebScalers, LLC, Chicago IL, to be delivered across the Odeo site. The CEO of Webscalers is not getting returned phone calls from Eric Rupert, COO and Rick Arturo, President of Sonicmountain. Suprising?
Debt (reported from Blogosphere):
Odeo - $1,100,00
Fireant - $400,000
Webscalers - $120,000
----------------------------
$1,520,000
Revenue:
$0
Investment:
$0
Poor Fireant and Webscalers now need to get on the Lawsuit bandwagon. So Sad!

Odeo / SonicMountain's Rick Arturo 's checkered past!
Why do you assume SonicMountain is any better than SunnComm? Read the history of SiVault Systems. The president of Sonic Mountain (Richard Arturo) was the VP of Sales at SiVault. Sonic Mountain and SiVault appear to share the same New York City office space (500 Fifth Ave, suite 1650). SiVault seems to have spent much of its history buying up other companies and making press releases (much like SunnComm). The purpose (it seems to many) is simply to drive up the price of the their shares.
For the full story on SunnComm, you should read http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/27/sunncomm_death_or_glorry/
The best info I’ve found on SiVault is http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1101046/000114420406016612/0001144204-06-016612.txt
One of my favorite lines in the Sivault SEC filing:
We incurred a net loss of $23,900,354 during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2005 and $3,406,660 during the prior fiscal year. At June 30, 2005, we had an accumulated deficit of $42,112,412. Our auditors have issued a qualification in their report on our financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2005, reflecting their concern about our ability to continue as a going concern for the current fiscal year. We expect to make significant expenditures in connection with the implementation of our new business strategy, including expenditures relating to sales and marketing activities, technology development and integration, potential acquisitions and administrative resources. As a result, we expect our losses to continue for the foreseeable future and we may never achieve profitability.
Now, I don’t know that SonicMountain and SiVault share anything but one executive and an office. But I don’t know why everyone assumes that Sonic Mountain is a hero.
Hats off to Guy from Wantaugh for this data!

Breaking news with much more to come on this one!

Odeo 's / Sonicmountain's new CEO is Dick Moore! Fancy this individual!
Eric Bronstein said...
Looks like a sticky wicket here from NewTeeVee:
The CEO of the new Odeo is Rick Arturo's old boss from Sivault, Dick Moore. He just bankrupted their former company Sivault to the tune of $47m in debt.
Does he really have a few skeletons in his closet?
http://tinyurl.com/322f7y
He may be an an exceptional businessman and a great asset for Odeo, however, I would refrain from letting him drive me home from the new Odeo Holiday XMas Party.

Odeo / sonicmountain to be fair, here is your former address:
Accepting all their announced claims at face value drove me nuts. Especially, because at the time of the original announcement, Sonic Mountain’s mail address was a PO box at a UPS Store in Suburban Long Island (in Wantagh NY, just across the street from the Dunkin Donuts near the train station). Believe me, I’m the “Guy from Wantagh”. It is a great place to live, but you won’t easily find venture capital or Web 2.0 talent in a bedroom community that is the “Gateway to Jones Beach”. In Wantagh, Ajax is still the cleaning powder. See http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=34284898 it still says that their address is 3280 Sunrise Highway, Suite 74, Wantagh, NY 11793.
See for yourself:

Odeo / sonicmountain is run out of this office:
Since my curiousity was sparked by the SonicMountain address, I thought for fairness, I would do another round of web searches. It would seem that the SonicMountain address:
500 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1650
New York, NY 10110-1650
is an attorney’s office that is used by many clients for a mailing address. (I know there is nothing wrong with that). The following names seem to be associated with this address:
Thomas G. Amon, Law Offices of Thomas G. Amon
K2 Digital, Inc (previously Accelerated Building Concept)
SiVault Systems, Inc. - Dick Moore is CEO!
SonicMountain, Inc
Harry H. Wise III, Esq.
Thanks to Guy from W.
- 2 Lawyers
- 3 Broke companies w/ no sales or products!

Odeo / SonicMountain Lawsuit continues....Odeo mgmt cannot afford an attorney!
You heard it here first again kids. Odeo / Sonicmountain are so broke they cannot even afford an attorney of record! Check out this link: 010500/2007 case index https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcivil/FCASSearch
They are Prose, meaning they represent themselves without an attorney. Missed 9/6/07and 12/04/07 appearance. Not very wise, but necessary when you have no cash!
Ok Christmas list is :
- Pay Fireant $400,000 we owe them
- Pay an attorney to represent us.
- Owe developers for re-launch that is two weeks overdue!
- Wow! Whadda you mean video bandwidth cost money? Limelight who? Oh My, how much per month?
- Pay Bonuses to Officers?
OK, let’s pay ourselves first! Shut up, no money for my bonus! Oh, no revenue....Damn, bankrupt that dog!

Odeo Burns Fireant and Ajax is still the cleaning powder!
You heard it here first from the Big Apple! Odeo never paid Fireant the $400,000.
Now I know the "boys" down the street will "say it isn't so, say it isn't so!", but poor Jen and Josh were used as shills for Mr. Plump and Mr. Dump!

Oh well, another sad story for all of us. Guy from Wantagh says it all here (what did we expect?)
One interview at http://newteevee.com/2007/05/10/sonicmountains-odeo-plans-include-video/ had the quotes about “their own patent-pending search” and “SonicMountain has big plans. The acquisition of Odeo gives them an instant community to test their new tools and services on”. Which just seemed out of touch.

Odeo 's Rick Arturo is a Liar!
Ok, Rick Arturo explain this LIE:
On 6/14/07 you said in a press release: SonicMountain’s president, Rick Arturo, is enthusiastic about the alliance. “Our partnership with the Amergence Group is a very important step in the evolution of Odeo. The capital and expertise provided by Amergence will allow us to accelerate the plans we have for the siteThe Source is:
http://tinyurl.com/3ce8tb
Then on 9/13/07 you said to Liz Gaines at Newteevee: SonicMountain is run by Rick Arturo, SonicMountain had some business management difficulties of its own recently come to light, when a company by the name of the Amergence Group falsely announced it had finalized an agreement to acquire it. The Source is: http://tinyurl.com/yqwuw5
YOU RICK ARTURO ARE A LIAR!!!!
YOU PRAISED AMERGENCE WHEN THEY WERE INCLUDING YOU IN YOUR ACQUIISITION SCAM AND NOW YOU SAY "THEY" FALSELY ANNOUNCED AN AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE YOUR COMPANY?
EXPLAIN YOUR ACTIONS MAN! YOU OWE THOSE OF US WHO BELIEVED IN ODEO AN EXPLANATION.
NEXT UP "EXPLAIN DICK MOORE AND HIS PAST TO THOSE OF US WHO QUESTION WHY HE IS YOUR CEO?'"

Dear Odeo, ....the party is odeover!
Dear Odeo / SonicMountain executives ,
The rumors persist! Just what exactly is the game you guys are playing. Mr. Rick Arturo and Mr. Richard (Dick) Moore, just what do you expect to gain from being involved in the Web 2.0 community? Poor Josh and Jen have already been had :-( Let them go!
You (on the street is heard) have not paid them the $400,000 you posted a press release about. The ex-CEO Jack, takes you to court to stop your stock scams. I assume he left because of your “dirty dealings”. All you do is employee attorneys to try and scam everyone you meet. When will the madness stop? I was in Ontario and I personally saw what the bloggers are speaking about. Mr. Arturo, no one is buying your “aw shucks” banter! And Dick Moore, isn’t the SiVault debacle enough embarrassment for you? Give up boys….the party is odeover!
